In the last one decade a new thrust was
given & visible changes have come about. From an ophthalmic medical centre, it
has become as Institution to reckon with at the National level. This was
possible due to commitment and enthusiasm shown by some of the young ophthalmic
surgeons who have been inducted in last couple of years.
Oculoplasty Centre and
Low Vision
Centre,
Training of
Optometrists are some of the unique services this institution is
proud of. Decision to start Oculoprosthesis manufacturing unit will become a
reality in near future.
Our
CME
Programs are very much sought after by resident doctors of the medical
colleges for its quality & informative clinical presentations. The number of
doctors attending is ever increasing.
Phacoemulsification Technique Training which was started
four years back is ever demanding and almost 150 Opthalmologists from all over
India have had the opportunity to learn this technique. There is a four months
waiting list for the training. The
SICS
Training Program has also been started and is involved in
training of the surgeons in this art of cataract surgery which is very cost
effective and also at the same time stitchless and patient gratifying.
Every
Ophthalmic
Conference has our doctors presenting scientific papers, thereby
associating at par with some of the well known national eye care centres. Ever
increasing diabetic retinopathy and retinal problems with increasing number of
ROP referrals prompts us to start
ROP
Training Programs in this part of
India
which will benefit quite a few surgeons to treat childhood blindness.
Hospital has found a new phase in the sharing of knowledge and it is rightly
said that knowledge increases by sharing because there is always so much to
learn and share in the field of medicine.
Scientifically based good Academics is very essential for the clinical success
for any institution. We are heading towards this healthy phase in the history of
the hospital and God willing, we can hope to have one of the best teritary
centre in the field of eye care in the near future.
